Seed Selection
Open-pollinated seed selected with partner farms for flavour, not shelf life. We do not use hybrid seeds optimised for yield at the cost of taste. The bowl begins here — before soil, before rain, before any decision a cook makes.
SOIL TO SOUL • 10-STEP FARM-TO-BOWL JOURNEY
We publish the practice, not invented numbers. Named partners and figures appear only once verified.

Soil health is the first ingredient. Composting and rotation are conditions of our farm partnerships. We do not work with farms that use synthetic soil treatments that compromise long-term land viability.
Direct relationships, agreed quantities, prompt payment. Named partner stories are published only with full consent. We do not use intermediaries that obscure who is actually growing the food.
Picked to a kitchen schedule rather than a warehouse one. Produce harvested for storage is not the same thing as produce harvested for cooking within 48 hours.
Herbs arrive whole and are processed in small lots to protect aroma. Ground spices and pre-processed herbs have a fraction of the aromatic complexity of whole, freshly processed material.
Cooked in small batches daily. No artificial preservatives, no flavour concentrates. A kitchen that cooks for today's orders is a different operation from one that cooks for next week's inventory.
Chilled quickly, sealed, and dispatched cold within a short delivery radius. Freshness is a logistics decision before it is a marketing one. Our delivery radius is set by cold-chain limits.
Reheated once, gently, and eaten as a meal — not a supplement. We design our bowls to be satisfying food, not delivery mechanisms for micronutrients.
Processing work is routed to local, largely women-led groups where possible. Structure is documented. Figures are published only once verified.
Packaging, water use and waste reduction are reviewed each season. We publish practices, not unverified numbers. Environmental claims without audit trails are marketing, not accountability.
